Lone Jack Fiddle Contest

As part of the Lone Jack Civil War Battle Commemoration Activities, the Battle of Lone Jack Civil War Museum (on U.S 50, Jackson County) will be hosting a fiddle contest. Three prizes in Junior Division (age 16 and under); Junior contestants play two tunes (hoedown and tune of choice). Five prizes in Open Division (Open contestants play hoedown, waltz, and tune of choice). Rules: One accompanist allowed; no double shuffle bowing; contestants not allowed to speak on microphone; banned tunes: Devil Went Down to Georgia, Orange Blossom Special, Listen to the Mockingbird.
