Polly Burre Memorial Old Time Fiddlers’ Contest

Saturday, June 27, 2015 • 5 p.m. Registration begins at 4 p.m.
Community Hall, Tebbetts, Missouri

In 2014, after 15 years, the Tebbetts Community honored Polly Burre’s memory by bringing back the Old Time Fiddlers’ Contest. It was very successful with many great musicians of all ages. Once again, in 2015, the Polly Burre Memorial Old Time Fiddlers’ Contest is back.

The contest is named for the late Kenneth “Polly” Burre (1916-1999), who was a well-known organizer, promoter, and emcee of fiddle contests all over Missouri. Polly was also a musician in his own right.

The event is part of the Tebbetts Community Picnic, which has been going since 1948. Tebbetts is located 13 miles east of Jefferson City on Highway 94. (map)

$800 in cash prizes will be awarded in three divisions: Senior (60 & older), Adult (16-59), and Youth (15 & under). For more information, contact Jim Buffington at 573-826-0775. Registration for the contest is free; admission to the contest is free, too.

Tebbetts Picnic is known for its mutton and fried fish. Please come join us for good times, good food, and great music!
