Left-Hand Lady Under

Common in central and northeast Missouri. Good for intermediate dancers.

Call Explanation
Couple number one, balance and swing
Lead out to the right and form a ring Couple one circle up four with couple number two
Leave her be and circle three Gent 1 leaves lady 1 to form a line of three on the side with couple 2, and goes to couple 3 to form a ring of three
Put her on your right and circle four Gent 1 steals lady 3, puts her on his right, and circles 4 with couple 4
Gent number one go home alone Gent 4 and Ladies 3 and 4 are in a line of 3 at the side, facing the line of three formed of gent 2 and ladies 1 and 2.
Forward up six, six fall back Two lines of three go forward and back
Two gents do-si-do, right hand high and left hand low, and on to the next you go Lone gents do si do, gents in the lines raise the right hand and pass the left hand lady under. Each lady joins the lone gent who has just do-si-doed to form new lines of three perpendicular to the original lines. (lines of three now at the heads of the square)

Break A “break” is performed between repetitions of the figure.  After the break, the figure will repeat, starting with the second couple, then another break, then the third, and so on.
