This dance is danced pretty much everywhere, but it’s not a single set of calls–the caller will ask to see different moves as he or she pleases. In this dance, the head couples (couples number 1 and 3) dance together as a set of four, and the side couples (couples number 2 and 4) will work together.
Each time through the figure, the dance usually starts with this set up:

Gents lift their hands (keeping hold of the opposite gents’ hands) over the ladies’ heads until their arms are behind the ladies’ backs–somewhere down around the waistline. Ladies then lift their arms up (keeping hold, again) over the gents’ heads and end up with their arms around the gents at about the middle of the back. If you’ve done it right, you’ll have a basket made up of four people standing shoulder to shoulder and hip to hip. All four put their right feet into the middle and use their left to push the basket to the left. |
